Celebrities on Twitter. That statement alone is enough for some to call for the end of civilization. In the least, celebrities tend to add narcissism to a narcissistic medium.

That said, I like how Jimmy Fallon‘s doing things. He drops hints about guests and events on the show, replies often to many people on Twitter and (more because he’s a gadget hound than SM genius) has guests more catered to tech than other shows. (more…)

notes from a digital native

Use of the internet is an intracohort shift. Reliance on the internet is an intercohort shift. Thus, articles like this one are written to try and help those in power understand those that will eventually replace them.

advertising’s dead and growing

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

After attending the last CATFOA of the season, “Living in a Post-Advertising World.” The talk was solid and the discussion interesting. I had some time to inner-think on the bus. Was advertising ever “alive”?

Marketing on Facebook?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Don’t do it. You’ll want to. Those above you will want you to. Your marketing department will tell you it can be done. But don’t do it. Don’t market on Facebook; communicate on Facebook.

There is a difference. (more…)

a woman’s world is horrifying

Frito Lay A Womans WorldFor those that read my take on JCPenny’s “Doghouse” campaign, my reaction to the new Frito Lay‘s campaign should be obvious. Still, that won’t stop me (in spite of your silent protests).

What is “A Woman’s World?” Seems it should look something like the real world. If this is the case, after the introductory video, the real world is terrifying. Take a peek at the “Meet the Girls” section (if you hate yourself). (more…)
