works

Reflecting new skills, Thought Chasm (as shown below) is due for a new look. Here’s just a peek with more to come as I find time to make changes live, including a new design for the related Tumblr.
Adapting a static Photoshop file, I created and implemented this site for NuEar, through Starkey Laboratories. The elements were translated through CSS and JavaScript to create a fixed-height finished product. Links to increase the text size and use of Cufón, to embed the typeface with JavaScript, created a solution that not only reflected as closely as possible the designer’s vision, but also created a site accessible to nearly all users.
With Starkey Laboratories, I worked on adapting AudioSyncHearing.com for a new site, AudioSyncAudiology.com. I updated some elements but did my best to match existing elements.
In October, my former roommate and I took a road trip to the Northwest, where he looked at schools. This site is inspired by Field Notes Brand notebooks and chronicles the trip through notes and photographs. While purely for fun, I hope others enjoy it.
Through Inizio Creative, I was able to work on this site, expanding from a build-your-own into a fully functional, content-driven site.
Again, working with Inizio Creative, and again in the planning stage, this project is a website based on a new brand. More will be added as the project moves forward. To view and interact with the live mock-up, click here. (Here’s a version I liked that wasn’t chosen.)
Originally a fun side project, North Shore Academy of the Arts liked the design and moved forward with a redesign. The original site was based in Flash, making editing difficult without training. This site is powered by WordPress and uses content more effectively. I also applied Search Engine Optimization to the site before handing it off.

This project is currently in the mock-up stage. A connection at Ephraim’s tourism bureau contacted me about possibly updating their site into something a bureau representative could edit easily. When this project is out of the planning stage, I will update with more. View the static mock-up here.

Using the CMS established by Valtira, a template was designed and implemented for promotional events and campaigns. Each page needed a banner and various other visual elements. Images are linked above, live versions are within Minneapolis.org.

Integrating Twitter, Tumblr and blog posts, Thought Chasm is brimming with random rants bordering on over-share. Readability is greatly improved from its previous iteration. (You’ll have to trust me on that, as I’m hoping to bury it.)

A video reel for Aaron involved various clips in an easy-to-use environment. The most current version is at aaron.upthedrain.com.
An early project with Meet Minneapolis, this project was based on MinneapolisMeetings.com. It is a micro-site focused on the many companies throughout the Minneapolis – Saint Paul area that deal in medical or related technologies.
